Captain Jared was fantastic to fish with. A storm rolled in early on our trip, which was the only downside, but of course that’s out of anyone’s control. Even with the weather, within the first hour we landed two keeper Reds, and I have no doubt we would’ve hooked plenty more if the storm hadn’t cut things short. My son-in-law had such a great time that he spent the rest of the weekend fishing off the beach around Port Aransas and didn’t want to put the rod down. Big thanks to Captain Jared—we’re already looking forward to booking again (hopefully with clear skies next time)!

Captain Jared was on time and had us on fish right from the first stop. We had a blast out on the water, and both my son and bonus son landed keepers—which was exactly what we hoped for! When the weather turned and lightning started moving in, Jared made the right call to bring us in safely so we can fish another day. Couldn’t ask for a better guide—highly recommend booking with him!

Captain Jared was an excellent guide and made our trip a great experience. We brought home a Black Drum, Red Drum, and Trout, and even caught a Stingray along with plenty of Catfish to release. The boat was the perfect size for our group of four, comfortable and well-suited for the day. Jared took us past the jetty, across the flats, and over a wreck to find the best spots, and his knowledge of the waters really showed. We’re already planning another trip with him this winter!

Jared took us to several great spots and put us on fish right away. We caught Redfish, Spanish Mackerel, Spotted Trout, Mangrove, and more, and even had some big ones get away like a Black Drum and a Kingfish. The whole family had a wonderful time, and Jared’s knowledge and easygoing personality made the trip even better. He was patient and helpful with baiting, casting, and teaching, which made the experience enjoyable for everyone. When we return, he’ll be the first call we make for another trip!

Captain Jared was an outstanding guide for my son and me. He’s genuine, personable, and made us feel more like friends than customers. We had a fantastic time catching fish, sharing stories, and learning along the way. My 12-year-old picked up a ton of fishing knowledge from him—including how to properly fillet a fish. We brought in a few Reds and Trout and left with memories that will last. I highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Jared!

My son (Moose) and I had an incredible 5-hour trip on the water with Jared Huffman—known around Port Aransas as Hookin’ Huffman. Even though the fish weren’t biting much that day, it didn’t take away from the experience. Jared’s professionalism, energy, and deep knowledge of the area made it a trip we’ll never forget. He kept us laughing, taught us plenty, and worked tirelessly to find fish. The boat was spotless, the gear was excellent, and you could tell he takes real pride in his work. More importantly, it was clear how much he cares about making sure his clients enjoy themselves. If you want a guide who treats you like family and makes every minute on the water count, Hookin’ Huffman is the one to book. Moose and I can’t wait to go back out with him—next time we’ll be sure to bring the fish along!

If I could give more stars, I would. We had an amazing time with Captain Jared Huffman! He knew all the hot spots and made sure we were on fish throughout the trip. His boat was spotless, spacious, and fully stocked with everything we needed. Jared kept our lines baited, worked nonstop to help us, and even had our fish cleaned quickly at the end of the day. My son and his friends had an absolute blast, and we all brought home plenty of fish to enjoy for dinner. I can’t recommend Hookin’ Huffman enough—thanks again, Jared, for a fantastic trip! We’ll definitely be back.

We had such a great time fishing with Captain Jared! He was laid-back, welcoming, and made the whole trip enjoyable. He took us to several spots where we caught a mix of Reds, Speckled Trout, Catfish, a big Perch, a Toadfish, and even a Stingray—my son was especially excited about that catch. While we only brought home one keeper, the fun and memories were more than enough. Jared kept me updated on the weather, made sure we were safe and comfortable, and even recommended spots for bait and tackle. His knowledge of the area and attention to detail really stood out. We’ll definitely be booking with him again. Thanks for an awesome trip, Captain Jared!

Had an awesome time with Captain Jared! The rain pushed us to the afternoon, but we still landed some great keepers—and even had to release one because it was too big! We had an incredible time! Jared was fantastic, and my daughter had a blast. We caught drum, redfish, flounder, and trout—and dinner was amazing!

Jared was awesome—friendly, knowledgeable, and really attentive throughout the trip. We came hoping to catch redfish, and he delivered—8 out of 10 were redfish, including a solid 27-incher. We’ll definitely be booking our next trip with him.

I booked this as a father-son trip, and we had a great time with Captain Huffman. Despite the wind and rain, he worked hard to put us on fish and made the whole experience memorable. His knowledge of the bays really showed. I’ll definitely be booking with him again.
